potty learning

Last week, Micah decided he wants to wear underwear and stand up to pee, like the big kids.  He spent Wednesday afternoon with a couple of boys 6-9 months older than he is and I guess he was inspired.  It seems like it might be the right time to follow through, so with a little trial and error, he seems to be doing pretty well.  Mike is excellent at helping Micah get the hang of it.

Micah doesn't quite get the "stop what I'm doing and go" thing, I really think because he doesn't anticipate it.  If I ask if he has to go, he always says no.  When we just tell him it's time to go try, he will sit and usually go then.  Yesterday he wore underwear all day, no accidents after starting the try-every-hour policy, even when we went to church and friends' houses.

I'm a little surprised by the whole thing.  I've only ever known diapers, I haven't had a kid wearing underwear and using the potty.  But, I like it.  Half the changes, half the washing ... yes please!
